The average employee stays in one position for 4.4 years, whereas the average millennial employee stays less than 3 years
**(According to Bureau of Labor Statistics).
Now consider this…how much does it cost your company every time you onboard a new employee? The ability to attract, retain and (most importantly for you) engage your millennial talent not only will save you future (and recurring) headaches, but will also result in employee retention, employee engagement and of course, higher profitability for your company.
What if I could help you implement new strategies that will not only help you retain your millennial employees, but also their Boomer, Gen X and soon to be Gen Y counterparts ? Those kind of savings to your company’s bottom line would make you a hero in your boss’ eyes? And who doesn’t want that?
Hi! I’m Amanda. I am known as a “millennial translator”. (We will get to how I got that name in a bit.) I help companies attract, retain and engage top millennial talent. After all, the Millennial Generation currently makes up over 50% of the workforce and are only expected to grow** and we only want the cream of the crop working for your company! I bring the experience of running multiple multi-million dollar international companies plus I spent the past half decade speaking over 800 times to the very audience (millennials) that you are trying to engage and connect with. Not to mention the fact that I currently preside over an internationally acclaimed student leadership non-profit where over 95% of my (entirely) volunteer staff are millennials. (And guess what…I have figured out exactly how to engage and motivate them!)
My experience and knowledge is one-of-a-kind. Not only do I know and speak the language of corporate America, but I also know and speak the language of millennials. Who better to have on your team than a millennial translator who can help you get the very best out of top millennial talent?
Now on to the story of just how I got the name of “millennial translator”…
During one of my many, many speeches, I was lucky enough to be the featured speaker in a college series about the realities of the working world. For this particular session, I gave a basic introduction to my business background and then the floor was opened to Q&A from the audience. My approach to this generation is all about transparency and being open, so I encourage them to ask any question they have and I will happily answer it. (As you can imagine, I get quite a few interesting questions!) On this one particular evening, the questions were coming almost faster than I could answer them. We covered everything from my first job in the real world and what the transition was like from academics to real-world application to how I approach decision making in my career. At one point, a student asked me if I was a millennial. I replied, that I was on the cusp of Gen X and the Millennial Generations And then she said the phrase that would create a pivot in my career. She told me, “you should be a millennial translator because you understand us, but you also know and understand corporate America.” For once in my professional career, I was speechless.
